BR Patrick proudly presents BR Patrick Go! Fundraiser, a series of charity-run events all in support of the Children’s Cancer Foundation (YASKA Brunei) that is scheduled to commence in January 2024. This fundraising initiative will comprise of two events: the 130 KM Closed Run and the 3 KM Fun Run.

How is Mortar Events involved in all of this?

Mortar Events has joined hands with BR Patrick to make this charitable endeavour a resounding success by providing our services including event management, digital marketing, and merchandising.

Why are we doing this?

At the core of our mission is a commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of children facing cancer and their families. YASKA Brunei, a non-governmental organisation, stands as a beacon of support during the challenging journey of treatment, providing both practical assistance and a warm community.

Our aim is to inspire and actively involve the community, fostering participation while amplifying awareness of childhood cancer nationwide. Ultimately, our goal is to raise funds for YASKA Brunei.

How are we doing this?

The funds generated during these events will be directed towards supporting YASKA Brunei’s significant initiatives for the children, including:

Graduation Day
which celebrates the remarkable children who have successfully completed their chemotherapy treatments,

Make a Wish
which serves to fulfil the final wishes of children who are terminally ill, and

Ramadhan Food Supplies
which helps cover the expenses for Sungkai meals.

The Runs

130 KM Closed Run

The 33-hours endurance challenge featured the participation of five accomplished runners, namely Raymond Pang, Eric Pui, Jan Shim, Jin Ng, and Michelle Chong, each boasting an illustrious history of achievements in the realm of marathons. The run spanned three districts, covering the route from Belait district to Brunei-Muara district. The flag-off ceremony commenced at 10 PM on 5 January 2024 from Komplek Harapan in Kuala Belait. The runners successfully concluded their challenging journey at Pantai Serasa at 8:45 AM on 7 January, where they were warmly welcomed by the enthusiastic participants of the 3 KM Fun Run.

3 KM Fun Run

The 3 KM Fun Run warmly welcomed members of the public to participate. The event took place on the morning of 7 January 2024, coinciding with the eagerly awaited arrival of the five runners from the 130 KM Run. The proceeds from the registration were dedicated to YASKA Brunei.

130 KM Closed Run

Contribution to YASKA Brunei

The campaign successfully generated a total of forty thousand dollars through the 3 KM Fun Run registrations, offline and online donations. Kenneth Ling, General Manager of AIA Singapore Pte Ltd (Brunei branch) and Patrick Pang, the Master District Director of BR-Patrick Agency, presented the donation cheque to Tsara’ Nawwarah Chen, the President of YASKA Brunei, at the 3 KM Fun Run event.

The entire event showcased a remarkable display of community spirit and solidarity, emphasising the commitment of BR-Patrick Agency and its associates to make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by childhood cancer. The agency would like to express gratitude towards the esteemed sponsors of BR Patrick Go! Fundraiser for supporting the campaign. The generous contributions received through various channels will undoubtedly contribute significantly to YASKA Brunei’s ongoing efforts in supporting children battling cancer.
